Brandi Thomas is Vice President & Chief Audit Executive and Chief Diversity Officer at General Electric.
Her responsibilities include oversight of the GE Audit and Risk Advisory Services team, generating, refreshing and completing the Internal Audit Plan. GE is building and fostering world class risk management through risk based, technical audit & leadership development. She and her team evaluate GE’s systems of internal controls including operational efficiency and effectiveness considering our company’s risks, goals, policies and processes.
Her role as Chief Diversity Officer promotes diversity, equity and inclusion for all GE employees as well as focuses on community engagement and diversifying GE’s supplier base. She supports GE’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) through sponsorship, engagement and making sure that they are properly resourced.
Prior to joining GE, Brandi was Vice President, Corporate Audit for Delta Air Lines. She also has a background in technology, having served as the first Chief Audit Executive at Uber Technologies, Inc. She began her career at General Electric as a graduate of the Financial Management Program and GE Corporate Audit Staff. Brandi returned to GE to apply her insight and skills to GE Internal Audit gained in various industries including manufacturing, software, technology and aviation. She has a background in public accounting from Ernst & Young LLP.
Brandi serves as a board member of the Atlanta Institute of Internal Auditors and is co-founder and Chair of the Board of The Generational Wealth Foundation. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and speaks regularly on matters of diversity and inclusion in business, audit and technology.
She is on the Board of Directors of Serta Simmons Bedding and serves as Chairwoman of the Audit Committee.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Brandi graduated with a B.S in Finance from Case Western Reserve University and is a Six Sigma Blackbelt. She resides in Atlanta with her husband, Cedric, and two children: C.J. and Bailey, and her French bulldog Taco.
