BIOGRAPHY

Jean is Associate General Counsel – GE Licensing. Based in Niskayuna, NY, she joined GE Licensing in 2007. 

In her current role Jean provides intellectual property and legal support, including licensing and transactional work, as well as IP development and patent portfolio leadership.  She is also the Compliance Leader for GE Licensing.

Jean has had an extensive career at GE.  She joined GE’s Manufacturing Management Program and has held various manufacturing and engineering leadership roles within GE Lighting and GE Aerospace. Her legal career started as a patent attorney with GE & RCA Licensing in 1996. She then moved to GE’s Corporate Research (now Global Research) where she transitioned to supervising IP counsel.  In her time there, she supported general legal needs and all patent preparation and prosecution for various technologies, with a focus on healthcare imaging and consumer products. She moved to GE’s licensing team in 2007. 

Jean has a JD from Temple University School of Law, having attended at night while working full-time. She received her undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She’s a college sports enthusiast and enjoys watching college football, hockey and lacrosse, enjoys cooking (and eating) and spending time with her family.
